Successful installation of chimney of sub-boiler for Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant
This morning, 15/5/2013 at Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant site, Lilama Mechanical Engineering and Machinery Installation JSC (EMC) has installed successfully the chimney of sub-boiler. This is one of the emulating activities to make achievements in celebration of 123th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (19/5/1890 - 19/5/2013).
The chimnery of sub-boiler was made of carbon steel with diameter of 2,014m, length of 30m and weight of 19 tons. The work was started at 6:30 a.m, and after more than 1 hour, the equipment was set up and installed in position safely and exactly. The chimney was installed by 2 cranes with lifting load of 250 tons and 50 tons.
This is an important equipment of the item of sub-boiler. The sub-boiler equipment installed on 13/5 was also fulfilled by crane 250 tons. The sub-boiler weighs 82 tons in the total item of 350 tons. In accordance with the schedule, the item will be finished in July to serve the test running work for the plant.
The Mong Duong 1 has two machine units with total capacity of 1,080 MW, and the annual electrical productivity will be 6.5 billion kWh. When being put into operation, the electricity of the plant will be merged into the National Grid through the 500kV power transmission line of Mong Duong circuit, Quang Ninh 500kV transformer station.
