Lilama 69-1; successful pressure test for boiler 1 of Thai Binh 1 thermal power plant

On 17/10/2016, in the construction site of Thai Binh 1 thermal power plant, machinery installation team No. 9 (from Lilama 69-1 JSC) have conducted to test pressure successfully for boiler 1 in witness of Owner EVN, EPC Main Contractor Marubeni, Mechanical Contractor JEL, ASME Organization and Verifying Centre of Ministry of Industry & Trade (MOIT).

     The item to be tested was high pressured steam section of boiler with total weight of 4,200 tons of equipment including: steam drum, boiler, piping and pipeline conducting main steam to turbine of generator.

     To prepare for this work, Machinery Installation Team 9 used a pump to supply water from storage tank which had been demineralized to the one in testing area, then the water was added chemicals to attain PH = 10. The pump filled up water into boiler and pressure piping system with total volume of 500m3.

     During the test, a compressing pump of 400 bar was used to compress pressure gradually from 0 bar to 294,8 bar (300,7kg/cm2) and kept this level within 30 minutes, then it was reduced to 196,5 bar (200,43 kg/cm2) -the designed pressure. This pressure was maintain in 1 hour so that all parties EVN, Marubeni, JEL, ASME, MOIT could checked the system entirely. After checking and being assured that all pressured equipment and pipelines satisfied technical requirements, pressure was reduced to 0 bar, and the test ended.

    Successful pressure test for boiler 1 was an important event to mark the finish of performing the pressure mechanical work for boiler, attaining an important schedule milestone during the construction of Thai Binh 1 thermal power plant. After the test, Machinery Installation 9 will carry out the work of thermal insulation, kiln bricklaying, ventilating pipeline, coal supply, smoke chimney and other auxiliaries … in preparation for boiler burning work in January 2017.


Testing pressure attained 294,8 bar (300,7 kg/cm2)

     The work of performing boiler 2 is now being finished by Machinery Installation 9 in such items as installing pressured equipment and piping system, striving for pressure test in the end of December 2016.
