VUNG ANG 2 TPPP – SUCCESSFUL HYDROSTATIC TEST FOR BOILER 2

During two days of June 10th and 11th, LILAMA in coordination with the EPC Doosan and the Client celebrated successfully the ceremony on hydrostatic test for Boiler #2 in Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant Project site, which marked an important milestone in the progress schedule of the plant construction.

LILAMA started the work of filling-up-water into the boiler from 19h of June 10th and completed on 2h00 of June 11th. After that, hydrostatic pressure was compressed from 2h00 to 15h00 up to the testing pressure at 456.9 bar and kept staying within 30 minutes (from 15h30 to 16h00). From 16h00 to 17h30, it was depressurized to the designed at 304 bar, then taking inspection with the EPC Doosan, the Technical Advisor and the Client VAPCO. The testing was finished at 17h30 today (June 11th).

In Vung ang 2 project, LILAMA took over the whole work of mechanical installation for boiler, BOP, Environment, insulation and all I&C electricity system of the plant. Until now, the total work volume performed and completed has gained 65% of the plan.

The Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant Project (located in Ky Loi district, Ky Anh commune, Ha Tinh province) has the total investment of 2.2 billion USD under BOT form, which VAPCO is the Owner and Doosan Heavy Industries the EPC Contractor. The plant comprised of two unit with the total capacity of 1,330MW, applying the supercritical technology and using coal for fire imported from Australia and Indonesia. It is expected that the plant shall be put into commercial operation for the Unit 1 by July, 2025 and the Unit 2 in November, 2025.
