LILAMA CONSTRUCTION TEAM No.2 ACHIEVES 3 MILLION SAFE MAN HOURS IN NEOM GH2 MODULES FABRICATION AND ASSEMBLE FACTORY
On October 12th 2024, The NEOM EPC Contractor Nucera awarded Certificate for 3 million safe man hours to the Construction Team No.2 - a subsidiary unit of Lilama Corporation assigned to implement fabrication and assembling work of electrolysis modules for the NEOM green hydrogen project in the congratulation ceremony taken place in LILAMA equipment manufacture factory in Pha Rung, Thuy Nguyen commune, Hai Phong city.

Attendees in the ceremony were representatives of the EPC Contractor Nucera, LILAMA Corporation and over 500 project staffs including engineers and workers who were working in Pha Rung workshop. The congratulation celebration has marked an important milestone recognizing great effort and responsibility of all engineers and staff involved toward the target of completing the project on schedule with required quality and safety.
The GH2 electrolyzer fabrication and assemble for the NEOM project carried out by the Construction Unit No.2 initiated in December 2022. Through nearly the past 2 years, many efficient performing measures had been set forth and applied in managing and controlling safety during the execution under close supervision of Lilama GH2 project management board. As a result, the achievement of 3 million safe man hours was a recognition for the contribution of all Lilama labourers who had always worked conforming strictly to the safety principles and regulations in site.

Regarding all projects generally and this one particularly done by Lilama, the issue on labour and equipment safety had been always put in the first priority, along with guarantee of the schedule and quality committed as required under the contract signed with the client. Accordingly, the project staff, engineers and workers all had to join training, disseminating and coaching to raise awareness as well as executive consciousness on it.

Mr. Ha Van Duc, Manager of the Construction Team No.2 said that, his unit was assigned to perform the equipment fabrication and assembling work by the Corporation. Until August 31st 2024, the completion gained 68.6% the total work volume, exceed 1.5% in comparison with that of the schedule, in which steel structure fabrication gained 78%; pipe 77.1%; installing and assembling steel structures, M&E and controlling equipment 61.6%; package and handover 51.5%.

Under the attack of the storm No.3 (named YAGI) in early September 2024, the HG2 fabricating workshop in Pha Rung had been hit directly and seriously damaged. Despite of preparing works and protecting measures for materials and equipment, the severe consequences caused by it still remained largely due to its so strong and wide-spreading intensity: all shields and covering system of the manufacturing area were destroyed while materials and equipment inside the warehouse were dipped by water and stricken by falling things causing to harm, affecting the progress of the manufacturing work.
After the storm No.3 was over, the Construction Group No.2 instantly carried out synchronously recovery measures to fix damages. The workshop re-operated one month after in order to keep up with the overall progress for the project completion on schedule.
