Successfully merging machine unit 2 of Vung Ang 1 thermal power plant into the national grid

At 20:28 on November 10th 2014, machine unit 2 of Vung Ang 1 thermal power plant with its capacity of 600MW has been merged into the national grid by EPC Contractor Lilama. The highest capacity to be generated in the merging process reached 41MW.

     Previously, at 16:30 on the same day, EPC Contractor Lilama conducted to burn coal fuel in Boiler 2 for the first time successfully. Thus, after the successful mergence of machine unit 2, Lilama will continue all tests as stipulated so as to operate this unit trustworthily, then put it into use officially as per schedule committed to the Owner PVN. Up to now, Lilama has finished more than 97% of the whole work volume.

     The Vung Ang 1 thermal power project with capacity of 1,200MW (2x600MW) has been invested by PVN and performed by EPC Contractor LILAMA. When being put into operation, the plant will supply apporoximately 7.2 billion kWh of electricity to Vietnamese market, contributing importantly to develop the national economy and ensure the energy security for the country.
