Lilama 10: successfully installing Rotor of machine unit 2 in Lai Chau hydro power project

Rotor of machine unit 2 was taken from the assembly place to the installation position and moved over machine unit 1 which was generating electricity

     Previously, the work of assembly & installation, check & preparation for rotor had been finished exactly by Lilama 10 Management Board, satisfying all defined technical specifications. The work consisted of assembly, calibration, high voltage test for Rotor and rotor lifting equipment , Stator – generator, Tubine…

     At 5:10 a.m, the Rotor weighed 1000 tons with diameter of 15.587 m and height of 2.816m began to be taken to installation place (generator well), and after nearly 3 hours it has been installed into the position safely and exactly in witness of Owner and the consultation supervision unit. After the work, Lilama 10 concentrated to connect the high voltage compressed air system, electrical system, brake measure and so on for the accomplishment of the installation work.

     Together with the above work, machine unit 3 has been finished by 45% of the work volume. At the same time, machine unit 1 has been checked & taken over, generated power for test within 40 days and it is now generating commercial electricity stably and safely. The successful installation of rotor of machine unit 2 in Lai Chau hydro power plant marks an important schedule milestone to ensure putting machine unit 2 into operation in June 2016, contributing to speed up the plant construction schedule as anticipated to the finish in the end of 2016 “a year ahead of defined schedule.

Lai Chau hydro power plant which has 02 machine units with total capacity of 1,200MW is being built at Nam Hang commune, Nam Nhun district, Lai Chau province. When being finished and put into use, with all three machine units, the plant will supply about 4.69 billion kWh per year for the national power grid .
