LILAMA commenced fabricating and assembling 27 green hydrogen modules for H2Gs Project

In the morning of July 29th 2024, LIMAMA Corporation formally held the commencement ceremony for the fabrication and assembly works of 27 green hydrogen modules – H2GS project at LILAMA 69.3 Mechanical Manufacturing Factory in Quang Phuc commune, Tu Ky district, Hai Duong province. Attendees in the ceremony were representatives from the H2Gs EPC Contractor NUCERA, LILAMA GH2-H2Gs Project Management Board, LILAMA 69.3 J.S. Company and H2Gs project’s staff.

In the ceremony, under the witness of NUCERA - the EPC Contractor of H2Gs project, LILAMA officially initiated to implement the manufacturing work upon strict requirements of technique, quality and labour safety. The successful event was marked as the first step in the fabrication and assembly works for modules supplied for the H2Gs project (located in Sweeden) - a globally strategic one in the green hydrogen project chain aiming at carbon emission reduction in the steel industry. Also in the ceremony, LILAMA committed to deploy the works in terms of safety, quality and time schedule, sequencing the success of the previous projects of this kind like West Coast and NEOM.

Upon the time schedule, LILAMA shall start manufacturing from July 29th 2024, and expected to complete all the modules fabrication and assembly, testing and handover to the EPC Contractor NUCERA and the Client by the end of 2025. These modules would be produced and exported to Sweeden according to the global and EU standards such as CE marking, EN 1090-2, ISO 3834-2, PED, ASME B31.3.

H2 Green steel marks an important advance in the steel industry development toward sustainable steelmaking with reducing 95% carbon emission in comparison to that of the traditional way. It shall contribute to the world’s efforts to mitigate climate change orientating to sustainable development of the global industry. The H2Gs project is expected to begin installation in 2024, and shall create a production of 5 million tons of high-quality steel per year with zero emission when operating in 2030.
