LILAMA energized successfully Main Transformer of Nhon Trach 3 Combined Cycle Power Plant Project

This milestone of energization was very important to the whole project for it shall supply a 6.6kV-capacitated auxiliary power source for test-running main equipment and ancillary systems of Nhon Trach 3 plant, speeding up putting electricity on the national grid on time.

Despite of a lot of entanglements during performance process, LILAMA, as the role of the EPC Contractor together with other contractors had given the best option of execution for all items simultaneously in progress acceleration targeting to complete the plant project on schedule and generate to the electricity network in the fourth quarter of year 2024.

 Nhon Trach 3&4 Plant Project construction progress are speeding up

Nhon Trach 3&4 plants will be connected to the Nation Electricity Grid via the 500kV and 220kV Power Distribution Switchgears within the plants, of which the power loading transmission is intensified in service for social – economic development for the Southern provinces including Dong Nai, making contribution into the energy security and pay raise to the local budget.

 Joys expressed on engineers’ faces after successful energization of the main transformer.

In accordance with a great effort of boosting the construction for Nhon Trach 3&4 plants’  electrical capacity grid, EVN presently are also carrying out synchronously investment for 04 other electricity network projects at the same time as follow: Nhon Trach Industrial Park Power 220kV Transformer Station  and Connection, Nhon Trach 3 Plant 220kV Transmission Line  – Long Thanh 500 kV Power Transformer Station, Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant 500kV Transmission Line – Phu My turn – Nha Be (represented and managed by SPMB), and  Nhon Trach 3 220kV Transmission Line – My Xuan Turn – Cat Lai (managed by NPTPMB).

It is expected that Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 plant shall be put into commercially operation by November 2024 and May 2025, respectively.

Nhon Trach 3&4 Combined Cycle Power Plant Project located in Phuoc Khanh commune, Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province is a national important deployed by PV Power. It has a capacity of 1,500MW and an investment of 1.4 billion USD. When operating, the two plants shall supply about 9 billion kW electricity per year, contributing to the national transition to clean energy plan in Vietnam and realizing the commitment at COP 26 for Net – Zero emission by the year 2050.

Particularly, it is a national mega project characterized with a number of top-rating criteria required in Vietnam such as: the first power project using imported LNG with state-of-the-art technology, the first plant using model 1:1:1 (turbine – steam boiler – generator), the gas-turbine unit among the fewest in the world structured by above-500MW capacity with highest efficiency upper 60% when working. The project was performed by LILAMA – a Vietnam prestigious enterprise – as a member of the EPC Contractor Joint-venture with Samsung C&T.
