LILAMA installed generator for Nhon Trach 3 & 4 Power Plant Project

This is one of the important milestones in the whole project schedule toward the commercial operation date (COD) of Nhon Trach 4 Plant that shall be reached by the 2^nd quarter of 2025.

The generator of Nhon Trach 4 was supplied by OEM GE modeled W88, originated from Poland with the capacity of 892 MVA, weighing 453.6 tons, and having dimension of 11.89m x 4.86m x 4.92m (LWH).

Nhon Trach 3 & 4 Power Plant Project is located in Nhon Trach commune, Dong Nai province is an important national power project with the capacity of 1,500MW and the total investment of 1.4 billion USD. It is expected that the two plants shall supply the national electricity grid about 9 billion kWh per year when operating. The Plant project belong the Nation Master Power Plan VII, which the Government had assigned PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) as the Owner; and Samsung C&T and LILAMA are the Joint-venture EPC Contractor.

Nhon Trach 3&4 is the first plant project using LNG as main fuel to generate power in Vietnam. After commercially operating, it shall make a significant contribution into realizing the commitment of net-zero emission stated by The Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in COP26 Conference as well as stabilizing the national power security.

Until the present, the Project has fulfilled a construction volume estimated over 72% in comparison to that of the signed contract, which mainly achieved the schedule set. More particularly, the installing work of main items such as heat recovery steam generator and turbine was completed, while main equipment like steam turbine, generator, transformer… still have been in-built. As before, the generator and gas turbine of the Nhon Trach 3 plant had been placed successfully into the foundation in 12/10/2023 and 16/10/2023, respectively.

The Joint-venture EPC Contractor, especially LILAMA, has been focused all resources such as labor mobilization, equipment and vehicles to booster the execution in site. LILAMA’s engineers and workers have been working days and nights to deploy mission assigned under the contract in order to keep the project complete on-schedule.
