Lilama in Nghi Son oil chemical refinery project
At this time, at site of Nghi Son oil refinery project, there are 778 LILAMA engineers and workers working. To perform this project, LILAMA has mobilized all its subsidiary companies to participate in.
The items that LILAMA is now performing include: installing steel structures for piping performance, rude oil tank package, underground piping system, installing parts of piping systems... To raise the labour productivity, LILAMA always conducts to install equipment right after each construction area has been finished. As we know, in this project, LILAMA has to install 56,134 tons of equipment among which 10,000 tons has been manufactured by LILAMA.
With the point of view that people is the leading factor, the working conditions and living environment at Nghi Son oil chemical refinery project are paid much attention. There are accommodations with comforts for labourers, but not temporary tents like some other projects. There is also a canteen for all employees to have lunch so they donot have to go and have time for a short rest.
Mr Tran Dinh Dai, Director of Nghi Son LILAMA Project Board sai that LILAMA would mobilize about 8,000 labourers working at the project if necessary. For the efficiency of the work, LILAMA Corp. paid its member companies a flat rate for the work, then the companies paid their labourers a flat rate. Each week, the project board organized 2 training classes for the labourers to improve their qualifications, experience and having an overview or projects.
The Nghi Son oil chemical refinery project has its total investment of USD 9 billion, consisting of 3 main shareholders: Petroleum of Vietnam (25.1%), Kuwait International Oil Company (KPI/KPE) 35.1% and Idemitsu Kosan Co. of Japan (IKC) 35.1%. The main shareholders will contribute approximately USD 4 billion to the capital, the other USD 5 billion will be mobilized from signing with joint-ventures, banks and international financial organizations. LILAMA Corp. is one of the contractor to perform this project.
