Previously, machine unit 2 had spent important stages: being merged synchronously into the national grid on 10/11/2014, generating at designed capacity of 600 MW by coal fuel on 5/2/2015. As we know, machine unit 1 had been handed over by main contractor Lilama to Owner for commercial operation in 12/2014.

Vung Ang 1 thermal power plant has been invested by Petroleum of Vietnam (PVN) and it has been constructed & installed by EPC Main Contractor Lilama Corporation, it has the designed capacity of 1,200 MW consisting of 2 machine units (2x600MW). As anticipated, when being put into use, the plant will contribute approximately 8 billion kwh per year to the national grid.
