LILAMA delivers 02 modularized process sections for thyssenkrupp Nucera’s project
On July 29th, 2023, LILAMA successfully completed and delivered two modularized process sections for a 10 metric ton per day facility to produce green liquid hydrogen to its Client, thyssenkrupp Nucera (Germany), at LILAMA’s Fabrication Workshop located in Hai Duong province.
The project began its implementation from August 2022, with all stages of manufacturing, assembly, and testing carried out by LILAMA. After 12 months of focused construction, LILAMA’s engineers and workers made efforts to work and overcome every challenge to achieve the goals of quality, safety, and schedule. This is especially significant as the project utilizes cutting-edge equipment, the first of its kind in the world, applied by the entirely new technology of thyssenkrupp Group. It demands high precision in manufacturing and assembly, particularly strict requirements in equipment cleaning and preservation, as well as packaging prior to shipment.
The production of green hydrogen modules, solely based on Alkaline Water Electrolysis (AWE) technology, with the designed capacity of 20MW per each, operates entirely on renewable energy sources that are environmentally friendly, aligning with the global trend of reducing carbon dioxide emissions compared to fossil fuels.
The completion and handover of the 2 electrolysis equipment modules are the results of the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, and daring to take responsibility in guiding, managing, and the process of hard work, filled with creativity from the engineers and workers of LILAMA
This is also an significant milestone that affirms LILAMA's skills and capabilities in participating in large-scale global clean energy projects. thyssenkrupp Nucera expressed their high appreciation of LILAMA's dedicated and effective collaboration throughout the project implementation to meet schedule and quality requirements. This lays the foundation for upcoming crucial projects that LILAMA is entrusted to continuously undertake manufacturing and assemby of modularized process sections.
With the handover of the two modularized process sectionsto thyssenkrupp Nucera, LILAMA becomes the first Vietnamese entity to successfully manufacture key modules for this system. LILAMA's valuable experiences will aid Vietnam in being ready to deploy sustainable, long-lasting clean energy systems, contributing to energy security and reducing climate change impacts in the near future. This aligns with Vietnam's commitments at COP26 and the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
