Vung Ang 1 thermal power project: handed over machine unit 1 to Owner to put it into use

As reported from Vung Ang 1 Lilama Project Management Board, exactly at 15:00 today (30/12/2014), Lilama Main Contractor has handed over machine unit 1 of Vung Ang 1 thermal power plant to Owner (PVN) to put it into operation.

     To finish and hand over machine unit 1, previously Main Contractor Lilama had accomplished the process of reliable running as per the EPC contract signed with the Owner - Petroleum of Vietnam (PVN), all specifications have satisfied the designing requirements. This result is the acknowledgement of efforts and success of Main Contractor Lilama who has overcome all hardships to put the largest machine unit in Vietnam now (600 MW) into operation steadily. As we know, machine unit 2 of the plant have been merged onto the national grid in the recent November. As anticipated, it will be handed over to the Owner in Quarter 1/2015 for commercial electric gereration.

     The Vung Ang 1 thermal power plant has its capacity of 1,200MW (2x600MW) has been invested by Petroleum of Vietnam (PVN) and Lilama is the EPC Contractor. When being put into use, the plant will provide about 7.2 billion kWh of electricity for Vietnamese market, contributing importantly to develop the national economy and ensure the energy security for the country.
