Lilama 10: successfully installing Steam Drum 2B for Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant

Steam Drum 2B weighed 161 tons is being put into the installation position at the height of 46m by Lilama 10

     At 11:30 a.m on 24/12 steam drum 2B was put into the installation position safely and exactly. This was the last one in the total 4 steam drums of the plant. Previously, steam drums 1A, 1B and 2A were installed successfully by other subsidiaries of Lilama on 21/6/2013, 26/8/2013 and 15/11/2013. So, after nearly a year of performance, Contractor Lilama has finished the installation work of all steel structures and and main equipment for the plant.

    The project of Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant is one of the two factories of Mong Duong Electricity Centre and belongs to the National Electrical Development Plan in the period of 2006-2015. This project consists of loan capital from Asian Development Bank (ADB), commercial loan capital from Korean Import Export Bank and Ngân hàng Xuất nhập khẩu Hàn Quốc and corresponding capital of EVN. Its Owner is EVN, and the Management Board of Thermal Power Project 1 was assigned to manage it. Contractor Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co.,Ltd (Korea) has been responsible for equipment supply and installation work. The Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant has two machine units with total installing capacity of 1,080MW, and the annual electricity production will be 6.5 billion kWh. When being put into use, the plant will generate electricity into the National Grid through the 500kV power transmission line of Mong Duong double electric circuit, 500kV Quang Ninh Transformer Station.

     As planned, machine unit 1 will be finished and put into use after 40 months (Quarter 1/2015), and machine unit 2 will be put into operation after 46 months (Quarter 3/2015 as anticipated).
