LILAMA is honoured the EPC Contractor with great efforts and determination to overcome difficulties for completing Song Hau 1 Project
On June 22, 2023, a ceremony awarding LILAMA as the EPC Contractor and Doosan as the Main Equipment Supplier with certificate honoring their great contributions to the successful completion of Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant Project was held in Intercontinental Hanoi Landmark 72 hotel in Hanoi.
Representatives attending the ceremony were Mr. Pham Tien Dung – Executive Vice President of PVN, Mr. Bui Duc Kien – Chairman of LILAMA Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Executive Vice President of LILAMA, Mr. Kim Jung-Kwan – Sale and Marketing Manager of Doosan Enerbility, and others from relating function departments of LILAMA and Doosan Enerbility.
Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant Project (2x600MW) is a very successful one, which proved great determinations and efforts of all involved parties. Within the context of the Covid-19 pandemic long-lasted spreading, despite of its deep impacts on both production and commerce worldwide, the project was completed on time as scheduled. When put into commercial operation, the plant shall create a production of 7.3 billion kWh per year to the national power grid and meet the need of electrical load for the Southwest region as well as the whole of Vietnam. This success, as Mr. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had said in his inaugurating speech, is the recognition and appraise for every party’s efforts taken part in the construction.
Particularly, the completion is a significance not only to reaffirm the role and experience of PetroVietnam in managing large-scale and national mega projects, but also shows the efficient and exact collaboration between LILAMA, a domestic EPC contractor and Doosan Enerbility, a leading company in South Korea and the world on electric technology and equipment supply. It was also the one to realize the pilot mechanism for domestic design and equipment production for power projects under the Decision No. 1791 issued by the Government.
Addressing speech in the ceremony, Mr. Pham Tien Dung – PVN Executive Vice President expressed his highly appreciation and respects on the enduring efforts made by LILAMA’s and Doosan’s management teams and staffs throughout the past years in overcoming difficulties, fulfilling all missions in construction and putting the plant into commercial operation on time with quality, efficiency and safety. He also requested LILAMA and Doosan to continue working together in close coordination with PVN PMB in warranty and settlement works for Song Hau 1 project.
On behalf of Song Hau 1 EPC Contractor, Mr. Bui Duc Kien – LILAMA Chairman of BOM gave the most sincere thanks to the PetroVietnam leaders who always facilitated contractors and helped to remove obstacles encountered during the implementation, so that the project could have been performing synchronously and smoothly. He also gave his sincere thanks to Doosan Enerbility in constantly keeping close cooperation and determination with LILAMA to finish the project successfully and hoped that LILAMA and Doosan will always be the trusting partners to PVN in cooperation on new projects in the future.
On behalf of Doosan Enerbility, Mr. Kim Yung-Kwan shared that, Doosan had realized and completed a number of power projects in Vietnam such as Mong Duong 2, Nghi Son 2, Vinh Tan 4 and Vinh Tan 4 Extension, and Song Hau 1 was the latest one done last year, which have strongly affirmed their capability in implementing large-scale power projects. He also stressed that with the success of Song Hau 1, the plant shall make significant contributions to the electricity security of Vietnam besides the commercial aspect. He also specially thanked and expressed his gratitude to PVN and LILAMA and wished to have more opportunities of cooperation in next power projects to create much fruitful business value in the coming time.
