Within the context of the installation and construction industry highly requiring working environment and risk controlling, LILAMA Corporation fully perceives the importance of occupational safety and considers it as a core value and a firm basis to obtain projects quality and secure labourers’ health.

From 26th to 28th of June 2025, LILAMA in accordance with INCOSAF held occupational safety and health (OSH) training courses for all LILAMA leaders and staff at Lilama’s headquarters in Hanoi complying with the Decree No. 44/2016/ND-CP and amendments in Decree No. 140/2018/NĐ-CP.

During the OSH training course, much helpful knowledges had been provided to all attendees such as risk and danger identification, effective measures in accident and occupational disease prevention, consciousness and discipline raising in legal compliance on safety, emergency situations handling skill.

The trainees of the three-day course were divided into 05 groups of expertise (including leaders, direct workers, medical assistant, hygiene staff, unskilled labourer) which are suitable to their titles or specialties when training.

In addition, as LILAMA “verifying occupational safety is the core value and firm basis” in projects implementation, safety ensuring activities have been carried out frequently and widely.

More particularly, In GH2 - a LILAMA’s important project located in Tu Ky district of Hai Phong city (formerly of Hai Duong province), the OSH duties have been undertaken more drastically. upon high safety and quality requirements from the Thyssenkrupp Nucera, GH2 project board had conducted grassroots training chain especially in 03 main fields: occupational safety, environment protection, sustainability-green oriented project management.

Also in GH2 project, in-depth training courses in line with international ISO 45001:2018 (on OSH) and ISO 14001:2015 (on environment) were organized, while expediting a pilot plan on internal 5S program and intense training for OSH management officers to get higher-qualified certificates according to the international standardization of Nebosh and BSI. As the result, GH2 project are reaching the milestone of one million safe man-hours, successfully continuing LILAMA’s safety chain managing ability from such previous projects as NEOM (Saudi Arabia) and West Coast Green Hydrogen Plant (USA).

A long-term and sustainability destination

Not only in GH2 project, LILAMA had also efficiently deployed OSH policy in international and domestic important projects with strict safety compliance required through which the managing competence and mastering ability have been consistently exposed.

With the role of EPC contractor of the Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant Project (in Hau Giang province), LILAMA had held tens of OSH training sessions including periodical training for engineers and workers at site. As a result, there was no accidents recorded during the project performance; criteria for risk assessing, equipment inspecting for testing operation were seriously applied; and the policy of “entering project site is getting into safe zone” was thoroughly performed.

Another LILAMA important projects should be mentioned here are the Vinh Tan 4 and the Extension Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plants (in Binh Thuan province) which involved in the largest number of human resource up to near 2,000 labourers per day in the rushing period of time. Accordingly, LILAMA had established three-layer safety supervising forces including general site manager, safety officer, independent engineer. The courses on on-job training, fire prevention and fighting, rescue and relief operation have been periodically organized. As the results, the projects were completed on-schedule and absolutely satisfied safety requirement.

Besides, the overseas projects by LILAMA with strict requirements on safety, environment and chemicals risk prevention and fighting from the Clients should be worth mentioning. To adapt the situations, LILAMA had made engineers and workers trained and got the international Nebosh certificate, periodical health check-up, as well as installed the early warning system (EWS) for risk and dangers identification in project site. As the result, the LTIFR (lost time injury frequency rates) has always been lower than the standard rate permitted which few Vietnamese contractors could keep.

A series of LILAMA’s projects with “no accidents” milestone during execution had been gained; a lot of projects were awarded with complimentary papers, certificates for safety by the clients inside and outside the country; at the same time, the qualified and professional safety management teams with international recognition have developed.

Safety is not simply a destination but a journey LILAMA pursues and persists with day by day. Such achievements obtained today from tens of small and large scale projects become vivid evidences for LILAMA’s strong pledge to the sustainable development of Vietnamese mechanical installation and construction industry upon safety and quality in the future.
