Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant Initial Firing

The initial firing of the Song Hau 1 Power Plant is a significant milestone in the accomplishment of the project construction work  as well as the completion in multi-action testing and commissioning of the main equipment and systems, becoming the momentum for the next steps of other important operations in such as the coal firing, synchronization of the plant and handing over the Unit#1 by the second quarter of 2021.

After this success, the process of firing by lubricant of Unit#1 shall be in 03 months in order to clean the air-conducting pipelines by blowing work, and adjust the auxiliary items such as the blowing fan, the water supplying pump, the cooling water system…. All these activities shall be ready for firing by coal in November 2020, energizing and synchronizing into the national electric network by the end of 2020 and early 2021, putting the complete Song Hau 1 Power Plant into commercial operation in 2021.

 Congratulation for the successful initial firing of the Song Hau 1 TPP Unit#1 by PetroVietnam, LILAMA  and other contractors in site.

According to Mr. Le Van Tuan – LILAMA President & CEO, Lilama as the EPC contractor and other contractors all expressed the determination to fulfill important milestones of the project on schedule right after the contract had been agreed and signed by the parties. So far, Lilama has fulfilled a great work volume of piles, steel structures, equipment fabrication and installation of as 75,000m, 210,000m³, 55,000 tons and 110,000 tons as respectively, while gaining 86% the total contact volume from commissioning operation of the main systems.

It can be said that the Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant is a very complex of multi engineering processes requiring the strictness on quality and accuracy, therefore Lilama has always given the quality to the first priority and seriously conformed the procedure for quality management to the contract regulation.

The initial firing the Unit#1 has been approved by the State Council for Acceptance, met the safety requirement in testing operation under the supervision of the Department for Fire Fighting, and satisfied the environment protection that accepted by the agencies for environment management. Through every inspection of the Provincial Council for Acceptance before, the Project had also been received high appreciation. These were the most compelling proofs for the achievement of quality.

The Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant is composed of two units with the total capacity of 1,200 MW (2x600MW) and built on an area of 115.2ha square, of which PetroVietnam is the Owner and represented by the Song Hau 1 Project Management Board, and Lilama Corporation is the EPC Contractor.

The Project is one of the national important works included in the Electricity Plan VII applying the specialized mechanism in investing and constructing the national urgent projects, which had been approved by the Government under the Decision No. 2414 dated December 11^th, 2013.
