Successful installation of Steam Drum 1B for Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant

Steam Drum 1B is being installed (pulled up) into safe position at the height of 46m

     Within 8 hours, steam drum No. 1B was pulled up into the required position. This is one of the most important equipment of the plant, which weighed 161 tons with the length of more than 23m and diameter of 1.8m. This event marked an important milestone of schedule to start the work of installing pressured equipment. Until this noon, steam drum 1B has been put into the safe position at the height of 46m. As anticipated, Machine Unit 1 will generate electricity in the end of 2014.

     To assure the work schedule, for the time being, Lilama has mobilized approximately 1,500 employees to concentrate on installing equipment for boiler system of the plant; installing boiler walls, manufacturing equipment for the performance of the plant. The most difficulty at the moment is that the supply of material is so slow, and Lilama has to organize a specialized team to concentrate on the installation and manufacture of equipment on time when the material is transported to port. In near future, the coming Tet holiday will be coincide with the schedule gang so that it will be hard to assemble the employees.
