Commencement of installing turbine for Machine Unit 1 of Mong Duong 1 thermal power plant

     Engineer Dinh Nam Binh, team leader of turbine installing group of LILAMA Mong Duong 1 Project Board said that the preparation work for installing the support sheet, surface and adjustment had been started from the end of July.

     To lift the turbine shell, LILAMA engineers and workers used a crane of 250 tons to put it down onto the railway, then used a winch to pull it inside. After that, it was lifted by a gantry crane into the position of installation. It was the first equipment of turbine. Just some minutes later, the turbine shell was lifted successfully in witness of the Owner, Main Contractor and other contractors. Later, LILAMA will carry out the adjustment work and install the equipment inside the turbine.

     Engineer Dinh Nam Binh added the installation work required high exactness (just 1%mm) so, installing workers must have experience, high skill and patience. Normally, the estimated time for installing inside equipment is around 7 months. However, Main Contractor Huyndai is now requesting to reduce to 5 months for compensation of slow schedule from other contractor. LILAMA have agreed with this method and decided to perform the work in accordance with the above milestone of schedule.
