Lilama 10: strives for bringing machine unit 2 of Lai Chau hydro power plant to generate electricity as per defined schedule

According to Lilama project board at Lai Chau hydro power plant, although facing the pressure of time, up to now, Lilama 10 has still kept up with the defined schedule, striving for accomplishing the work of assembling & installing equipment for turbine, generator to come to install Rotor of machine unit 2 on 12/04/2016 so that it will be able to generate electricity in the end of June 2016.

Up to now, Lilama 10 has finished more than 90% of the work volume of machine unit 2: Stator is now being assembled and welded for finish, Rotor has been already installed and tested for high voltage, painted for magnetic pole, Turbine has been already assembled and installed with working wheel, axis … and other items are being completed urgently, striving for installing Rotor on 12/4/2016. Besides, the works of installing electrical equipment, auxiliaries are all performed at the same time to assure the defined schedule of generating electricity from machine unit 2 in the end of June 2016.

In parallel with the work of machine unit 2, the one of machine unit 3 has been accomplished more than 40% by Lilama 10. At the same time, machine unit 1 has been checked & taken over, tested for running in 30 days and for the time being it is operating to generate commercial electricity stably, safely. Lilama 10 is now bringing the plant to its target as anticipated, it will be finished in the end of 2016 “a year ahead of schedule”.

The Lai Chau hydro power plant having 03 machine units with total capacity of 1,200MW is located in Nam Hang commune, Nam Nhun district, Lai Chau province. When being finished and put into use with all 03 machine units, the plant will provide 25 billion kWh of electricity for the national power grid.
