LILAMA & EVNGENCO3 Joint-venture sign the EPC contract on the O Mon 1 TPPP to convert to use Block B gas project.
On 5/9/2025, the Join-venture of LILAMA Corporation and Power Generation J.S. Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3), called as LIGEPS Consortium signed an EPC contract with Power Generation J.S. Corporation 2 (GENCO2) for implementing the Package 5 (EPC-01) of the Project on converting the O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant to use Block B gas in Can Tho city.
According to the signed contract, the LIGEPS Consortium leading by LILAMA shall take over the engineering, procurement and construction work (EPC) for the project on converting to gas using of the Block B for the O Mon 1 TPP, which lasts 45 months including 21 months of execution and 24 months of maintenance.
The Project is owned by O Mon Electricity Center Project Management Board of GENCO2, which is B-group with a total investment of over 2,207 billion dongs, comprising of 03 packages and the package EPC-01 referred to as the “heart” of the whole project.

Addressing speech in the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – LILAMA President & CEO said that, under the close direction of the State authorities of all levels and thanking to the positive support of the Owner and the will of cooperation and responsibilities of partners, the Package 5 (the EPC-01) shall be efficiently deployed and successfully completed in order to put the O Mon 1 TPP Block B gas using conversion into operation on schedule, which shall respond to electricity demand and secure the power supply stability, contributing to the social-economic development of the Mekong River Delta particularly and the whole country generally.

The project on O Mon 1 TPP converting to use Block B gas from DO carries a very important meaning not only for the plant to raise up the efficiency of operation but also making a significant contribution into realizing the clean and green energy development strategy, reducing carbon emission and ensuring the national power security.
